This Privacy Policy explains how Sloth Precision ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use Padr, our iOS pet care intelligence application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with transparency and care.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create a Padr account, we collect:
- Sign in with Apple: We support Apple's secure authentication service. If you choose this option, we receive your Apple ID and may receive your name and email address (or Apple's private email relay, depending on your preference).
- Email address: Required for account management and communications.
- Device token: Required for Apple Push Notification service (APNs) to deliver alerts about your pet.
1.2 Pet Information
You may provide information about your cat(s), including:
- Name, breed, date of birth, weight, and physical characteristics
- Body condition scores and health assessments
- Dietary preferences, restrictions, and allergies
- Veterinary care history and prescribed diets
1.3 Health and Activity Data
We collect data from connected devices and manual entries:
- Feeding data: Meal times, portion sizes, food types, and consumption patterns from smart feeders
- Hydration data: Water consumption from smart fountains
- Litter box data: Usage frequency, duration, and weight measurements from smart litter boxes
- Activity data: Play sessions and movement tracking
- Weight data: Measurements from smart scales and litter boxes
1.4 Device Credentials
To connect your smart pet devices, we collect:
- Smart Life (Tuya Cloud): A pairing code that you generate in the Smart Life app. We exchange this code for API access tokens, which are stored securely on our servers. We do not store your Smart Life password.
- Home Assistant: Your Home Assistant instance URL and a long-lived access token, both stored securely on our servers.
1.5 Food and Nutrition Data
When you use the barcode scanning feature:
- Camera access is used locally on your device to scan barcodes
- Scanned product information and nutritional data
- Manual food entries and nutritional information
Important: Camera images from barcode scanning are processed locally and are not stored or transmitted to our servers.
1.6 Technical Information
We automatically collect:
- Time zone setting (for accurate scheduling and reporting)
- iOS version and device model (for app optimisation)
- App version and usage statistics (anonymised)
- Crash logs and diagnostic information (to improve stability)
We do not collect your precise GPS location.
2. How We Use Your Information
2.1 Primary Purposes
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the Padr service
- Calculate health scores and generate insights about your pet's wellbeing
- Connect to and control your smart pet devices via Smart Life or Home Assistant
- Send push notifications about feeding schedules, health alerts, and important updates
- Enable family sharing functionality
- Synchronise data across your devices via PadrDEN Cloud
2.2 Analytics and Improvements
We use anonymised, aggregated data to:
- Identify and fix bugs and performance issues
- Understand feature usage to improve the app
- Develop new features and capabilities
We do not use third-party analytics SDKs. Any analytics are performed on our own infrastructure.
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Encryption
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- Data in transit: All data transmitted between the app and our servers uses TLS 1.3 encryption
- Data at rest: All stored data is encrypted using AES-256-GCM
- Device credentials: Smart Life and Home Assistant tokens are encrypted with additional key separation
3.2 Infrastructure
Your data is stored on PadrDEN Cloud, our dedicated cloud infrastructure. This is not a shared or multi-tenant environment. Your data is isolated within your family scope, and family members can only access data through authorised join codes.
3.3 Camera Feeds
Live camera feeds from your pet cameras are:
- Proxied through your own Home Assistant instance
- Streamed directly to your device; we do not store video
- Never recorded or retained on Padr servers
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
4.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data
Sloth Precision does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not monetise your data through advertising or data brokerage.
4.2 Service Providers
We engage with the following service categories:

5. Family Sharing and Data Access
5.1 Family Scope
When you enable family sharing:
- Family members can view all pet data, health metrics, and device information
- Family members receive the same push notifications (configurable)
- Any family member can add or modify pet data
5.2 Access Control
Family access is controlled through:
- Unique join codes that you generate and share
- The ability to remove family members at any time
- Complete data reset and cache clearing options
6. Your Rights and Choices
6.1 Account Deletion
You may delete your Padr account at any time through the app settings. Account deletion will:
- Permanently remove all your personal information
- Delete all pet profiles and health data
- Revoke all device connections and API tokens
- Remove you from all family groups
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Some anonymised, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

6.3 Notification Preferences
You can customise or disable push notifications in your iOS Settings or within the Padr app.
6.4 Sign in with Apple
If you use Sign in with Apple, you can manage your privacy settings, including hiding your email address, through your Apple ID settings.
7. Children's Privacy
Padr is not specifically directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete it.
8. International Data Transfers
Your data is stored and processed on servers located in secure data centres. By using Padr, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international transfers.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:
- Posting the updated policy on our website
- Displaying a notice within the Padr app
- Sending an email to your registered address for significant changes
Your continued use of Padr after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
